Location: Remote/work from home

Duration: 9 weeks-Anticipated start day, May 17th, 2021

Hours: 30hrs/week

Rate: $14.25/hr

RESPONSIBILITIES

This is an exciting opportunity for a creative, dynamic student that involves the following activities:

  • Will focus on providing a full range of specialized administrative support to assist with the day-to-day management control, operations and coordination of complex projects and/or program related functions in the office of the Executive Director
  • Provide high level calendar management with emphasis on proactive planning, scheduling internal and external client meetings and Board meetings including organizing agendas etc.
  • Prepares agendas, takes/transcribes minutes and follows-up on action required 
  • Attend Board and other meetings; responsible for taking minutes and sharing later
  • Responds to, and helps resolve, issues raised by staff, internal and external stakeholders, and the public via phone and email
  • Maintains awareness of municipal, provincial and federal matters while acting with discretion on all confidential matters
  • Administers, prepares, processes and composes documents, routine reports, statistical summaries and reports requiring considerable judgement in the interpretation and application of regulations and practices
  • Develops, operates and maintains an effective record/retrieval system for the office
  • Additional administrative duties assigned

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to communicate efficiently and professionally with clients and team members
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Experience with Calendly, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Exceptional organizational skills is an asset

Canada Summer Jobs: SOCIAL MEDIA COMMUNITY MANAGER

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build the strategy for our organic social channels, including Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter & Mailchimp and create and schedule content
  • Build out robust reporting for ongoing measurement of social channels so that you can constantly be optimizing for engagement
  • Responsible for responding to all comments and questions across organic social in a timely and friendly manner
  • Manages the development, delivery and execution of key social media deliverables, working collaboratively with internal team members
  • Social media content calendar development (across multiple platforms) considerate of the brand’s social media objectives, strategy, brand tone and measures of success
  • Delivers exceptional community management with care, attention and speed for assigned accounts
  • Collaborates with account and teams to ideate on content creation to support program (informed by social media performance)
  • Effectively manages time while paying careful attention to detail, ensuring all work and communications are completed on time and of exceptional quality
  • Confidently crafts and delivers effective communications
  • Write press releases and identify media opportunities and secure coverage in all types of media, including broadcast, print and digital channels
  • Research and create targeted media lists and update them on a regular basis 
  • Develop and manage relationships with journalists, partners and other external contacts
  • Manage deadlines and a dynamic schedule, while adjusting priorities as they occur

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrates effective knowledge within the social media advertising industry and a hunger for information/learning, including current and emerging tech, advertising and digital trends
  • Experienced with social media content creation for multi-channels (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Mailchimp)
  • Strong written communication
  • Ability to develop and coordinate social media campaigns across multi-channel platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter & Mailchimp)
  • Experienced in designed social posts and infographics using Canva or Photoshop
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

  • Managing reports/project tracking reports
  • Managing assignment of team members between various projects to keep them productive and efficient
  • Seeking new opportunities with existing clients, keeping detailed and accurate client accounts
  • Proactively maintaining and deepening ongoing client relationships
  • Developing reflection documents and writing creative briefs (writing skills required)
  • General Marketing Support
  • Gathering client testimonials, success metrics, support
  • Writing/editing/contributing to our marketing efforts, etc
