    Tabassum Wyne is the Executive Director of the Muslim Advisory Council of Canada, driven by an unwavering commitment to champion human rights and advance equity through effective policy implementation. Her exceptional effectiveness has been acknowledged in the House of Commons.

    With a proven track record of strategic leadership and adept stakeholder management, Tabassum has held advisory positions at prominent national institutions, including:

    -The Canadian Medical Association Journal (CMAJ), where she reports directly to the Editor-in-Chief, influencing crucial cross-country dialogues on issues such as the impact of Islamophobia and racism on health equity.

    -McMaster Children’s Hospital, providing direct reporting to the President on matters of anti-racism within the healthcare sector.

    Additionally, she was invited to serve on the One Child Every Child Advisory Council, established to advise and advocate for policies supporting the needs of children, youth, and families from equity-deserving communities.

    Through her steadfast dedication and extensive experience, Tabassum, alongside her team, is committed to advancing research, recognition, and resolutions for the health implications of racism and Islamophobia across Canada.

    In addition to her professional accomplishments, Tabassum has been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the Milton Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year Award and the Children's Healthcare Canada Organizational Leadership Award.

    On a personal note, Tabassum is also a proud participant on Food Network Canada’s Wall of Chefs (2020)

  • Chair

    Mohamad Sawwaf is an entrepreneur, business owner and educator in Toronto, Ontario in Canada. He has over 10 years of experience in the financial services industry. He acts as CEO of Manzil, which he founded in 2017.

    Mohamad holds a Doctorate in Islamic Finance from Henley Business School at the University of Reading (UK). He also holds an MBA from the Rotman School of Management as well as a second Masters focused on Corporate Governance from the Henley Business School (UK) and is considered one of the leading authorities of Islamic Finance in Canada.

  • Bibi is currently the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion Specialist at the Milton Community Resource Centre. Her primary focus is employing an intentional framework to shift the organisational culture to foster an equitable and inclusive environment for staff, clients and the community. Bibi has worked in the early learning and child care sector for over 12 years, and has a background in Psychology with a specialization in Development Psychology and Education. Bibi currently sits as a Board member on InformOntario, as well as is a member of the Halton Equity Diversity Roundtable. Her main passion is supporting the authentic identities of children, as well as fostering women's rights.

  • Nooman is a CPA, CA that has been involved in building processes, finance committees and finance teams in various industries. He brings extensive experience in building large private company budgets, reporting and taxation in NPOs and governance procedures. As a passion, he works with youth in local communities to teach them financial literacy, resume building and career progression skills. Nooman enjoys telling the story behind the numbers and has been involved in private fundraising events from early in his career. A big travel advocate, he has spent time travelling and working remotely in south east asia with his young family and is always looking for the next adventure!

  • Azim is a dynamic communications and public relations professional with over ten years of proven experience in engaging diverse audiences, developing effective strategic communications plans, and offering branding solutions for organisations. He currently works for a large agency of the government, leading community relations strategies for major infrastructure projects, working alongside elected officials of all levels of government, in addition to various community organisations and stakeholders. He is a graduate of the University of Toronto’s Political Science department and also holds a Corporate Communications Certificate from Humber College.
